MALAWI AT EMMY AWARDS IN USA



Victor Kamwendo, a talented actor originally from Malawi but now based in the United States, has achieved a remarkable feat by securing an Emmy nomination. This prestigious recognition comes as a result of his work as a producer on the captivating series called Playing Fields. The show has been nominated for the esteemed Outstanding Long Feature Award at the 45th Sports Emmy awards, specifically for its captivating episode titled Ornella.

Kamwendo collaborated with the highly acclaimed Emmy-nominated producer Danielle Blevins and the incredibly talented Oscar-nominated and Emmy-winning director David Darg to bring this exceptional series to life. Having settled in the United States at a young age, Kamwendo pursued his passion for acting and graduated from Indiana University with a degree in performing arts. He also showcased his acting prowess in the local film Misnomer, which was written and directed by the talented Chawezi Munthali.

The Emmy Awards, organized annually by the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences, celebrate and honor outstanding achievements in the world of television and film. The grand awards ceremony is scheduled to take place on May 21 in the United States, where the best of the best will be recognized and celebrated.
