MALAWI TOURISM EXPO
The fifth edition of the Malawi International Tourism Expo concluded on a positive note last Saturday, following a week-long event that began on Thursday. The expo provided a platform for the corporate world to showcase Malawi's tourism offerings, while also facilitating networking opportunities, learning experiences, and business connections.
The Bingu International Convention Centre in Lilongwe served as the venue for the expo, and as the sun set, the atmosphere was filled with live music performances by artists such as Temwah, Kell Kay, and Bucci. Their captivating performances entertained both local enthusiasts and international visitors, as well as people of all ages.
Temwah and Kell Kay delivered electrifying performances, igniting the stage with popular songs like "Magulu," "Ndili Kuti," "Muchedwa," and "Loss." The energetic youth in the audience danced and thoroughly enjoyed the music, with the artists even joining them in the crowd.
A standout moment of the expo was when Bucci performed his song "Ipatse Moto," which served as the theme song for this year's event. The song featured the Minister of Tourism, Vera Kamtukule, and encouraged both Malawians and tourists from around the world to explore the beauty of Malawi.
In addition to the music, attendees engaged in conversations about the interconnection between art and tourism. They expressed pride in the country's artistic heritage and advocated for greater recognition of local talent.
Some patrons also discussed the significance of promoting local tourism, emphasizing its importance for the growth and development of the industry.
