MISS TEEN MALAWI

 Ngugi Buleya, the founder of the Ngugi International Foundation, has introduced the inaugural Miss Teen Malawi, a competition designed for teenage girls who have a passion for modeling.

The registration for the Miss Teen Malawi program is now open, aiming to provide a supportive platform for teenage participants to nurture personal growth and become advocates of positivity and inspiration. 

In a statement, Buleya, who also serves as the newly appointed ambassador of the Zikomo Africa Awards brand, expressed his vision for Miss Teen Malawi to transcend beyond a typical beauty pageant. He emphasized that the program is a foundational initiative focused on empowering teenage girls with the necessary skills, confidence, and knowledge to establish their own identities and drive positive social change within their communities.

The Miss Teen Malawi program aligns with the principles of the Little Mister, Miss Africa-Malawi initiative launched in 2022, which includes Miss Culture Malawi. This initiative is part of the broader global movement aimed at enhancing children’s communication skills, talent development, confidence, poise, and social development skills.

““The event aims to empower teen girls as this is one of the most vulnerable age groups that need proper guidance and molding for Malawi to have strong, successful future female leaders,” she said. The organizers of the Little Mister, Miss Africa-Malawi pageant have announced that the winners will have the chance to actively participate in community charity campaigns, advocating for the rights of fellow children and engaging in various workshops aimed at promoting tourism.

In order to participate in the Miss Teen Malawi competition, contestants will need to obtain approval from their parents or guardians. Once approved, they will have the opportunity to take part in online competitions before advancing to the final event. At the final event, 15 girls will compete for the prestigious title of Miss Teen Malawi.

To prepare for the competition, the top 15 participants will undergo a series of preparatory activities, including workshops led by influential leaders. These workshops will address important societal issues such as gender-based violence and early marriages.

The winning contestant of Miss Teen Malawi will not only earn the title but also the opportunity to represent Malawi at the Miss Teen International pageant.

US Producer to Record 10 Artists on Sounds of Malawi Record Label Project

After working with Keturah, the Grammy-nominated producer who has recorded a number of other well-known musicians at his Hen House Studios became captivated by Malawian music and launched the Sounds of Malawi record label.
